Let the Good Times Roll

This weekend my friend Gabby was in town so we decided to get together for a good old game of bowling. Now, i have not bowled since i was about 12 and i used bumpers so my game started off rough but i made it up in game 2. I learned some important things from our fun filled night of bowling... 1- Marshall was on a bowling league in high school. ha ha ha... its okay, you can laugh with me, its funny, 2- Brandon is the worst bowler i have ever seen and 3 - the walk back to your seat after you bowl has got to be at least a mile... it seems like forever and the whole time your thinking... what do i do, what do i do? make a joke? smile? hurry and hope no one is looking (although they always are). I think it is the bowling version of the walk of shame, even if you did awesome. Does that make any sense? Just check out the pictures...

Oh... the picture that has the caption of "Marshall stepping up to the plate", that is Brandon, not Marshall. Unfortunatly, i didnt save the slide show so i cant edit it without re-doing it and i really dont feel like doing it over again. If you will notice, Marshall and Brandon are both in white shirts and Gabby and I are both in purple shirts... it was not planned, i swear.

6 QuArKs

I have been tagged by my friend Kathy! I need to list 6 quirks about myself but I decided that since I am not the sole owner of this blog, I am going to list three about myself and three about Marshall, to even out the score a little bit...

Jennifer's Quarks...
1* Everyone who knows me has been effected by this and it is something that i am afraid i cannot control. I have "shaking leg syndrome". My leg constantly shakes, rapidly and steadily. Its very annoying. I don't realize i am doing it until someone points it out. So i suggest not sitting in chairs in front of me because i like to put my foot on the little bar at the bottom of chairs and it is all down hill from there. But in my defense, i think it is genetic! My mom does it as bad, if not worse than me, her sister does it and my older brother Zach does it. SO DEAL WITH IT!!!!

2* Eggs. This will puzzle Marshall for as long as he lives i believe. He is absolutely flabbergasted by how i like my eggs. He tells everyone, looking for support... and... he usually gets it. Okay, so, if i am eating my eggs scrambled i eat the whole egg, if i am eating a hard boiled egg i only eat the white, the yolk grosses me out. If i am eating egg to dip i only dip in the yolk and i cannot stand to eat the white. Its a little weird... i know, that's why it made my top 3 quarks.

3* I live my life by the ever so powerful sticky note. I have them everywhere! On the back of my phone, on my ipod on my steering wheel, on my planner, on my light fixtures, around my computer monitor, just everywhere! I love crossing this off of a list and i must have a list to remind me to do things so this is the solution. When i need to do something i write it on a sticky note and put it in the most appropriate place. For example, i needed a hair appointment in October so i wrote a note that said "call Polly" and stuck it to the receiver of the phone in my office. She works a weird schedule and i have to be sure to call when she is there. Well, sure enough, i called and made the appointment. I of course remove it when i am finished with whatever it said but it is typically replaced with a new one shortly.

Marshall's Quarks...
1* He absolutely cannot stand the sound of a bag crinkling. If we eat chips we MUST put them in a bowl and not eat them out of the bag or he will go insane. It is like nails on a chalk board for him. It cracks me up because his nephew is constantly eating chips and he will carry around the bag of Doritos for hours eating one at a time... the look on Marshall's face is priceless every time.

2* He cannot sleep with any sort of cover tucked in! He has to have just his comforter and a sheet and he HATES HATES HATES touching just the comforter. The order must be the sheet then the comforter and never anything different. None of which can be tucked in. And then he complains that he wakes up in the middle of the night and his covers are on the floor... go figure.

3* This kid checks Steep and Cheap and Whiskey Militia at least 50 times a day!!! They are web sites that have deals on them for nice stuff, like The North Face, Marmot, Volcom, DC, etc. They change the item they are posting every 10 or 20 minutes, or somethings more or less, just depending on how fast it sells out. It is the FIRST thing he does when he wakes up in the morning, then he will check again before he leaves for work, check when he gets to work, check on any break he can get, check on my work computer when he comes for lunch, check when he gets to school, check when class is over, check when he gets home from class, check during the homework process, and it is most definitely the last thing he does before he goes to bed. It is the next best thing to gambling i suppose. He is heavily addicted and it is a very expensive addiction!

I am going to tag... Melissa H., Jenn K., Carrie G., and Tiffany A.

Whoop Whoop

Tickets go on sale Monday the 29th! I will be there!!!

Camping Excursion

Marshall & his nephew AJ getting ready for a wheeler ride
Marshall and his nephew Logan. That sweater is adorable!
Marsh and I on our 4-wheeler ride. I thought this would make the perfect background for the picture, and it did. Not to toot my own horn, but.... toot toot. Isn't it beautiful?!?

This weekend Marshall and I went camping with his mom, Larry and his nephew AJ. His brother Nathan, his wife Jenn and their baby Logan came up on Saturday to join the fun. Friday night we roasted marshmellows, but someone (AJ) left the bag to close to the fire so it was one giant marshmellow instead of little ones. I wasnt about to touch that sticky mess but AJ just bear clawed the whole bag, it was a mess!! Then Saturday we went for 4-wheelin' and just hung out. It was a good time. It is probably the last time we will go this year, it is getting pretty cold. We are planning trips down south to Moab and Arches but its warmer there so that doesn't count.

Trivia Tidbits

I was reading some facinating facts in a Healthy Utah Magazine and I wanted to post a few of my favorites. Some of them will blow your mind.
1- Motorists chatting on cell phones are more impaired than drunk drivers with blood-alcohol levels above .08 percent. 2- Banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories an hour. 3- A cup of coffee contains 1,000 chemicals; of these, only 26 have been tested, and half caused cancer in rats. 4- Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people. 5- During your lifetime, you'll eat about 60,000 poinds of food - about the weight of 6 elephants. 6- People who struggle handling financial stress are twice as likely to develop severe gum disease. 7- You are about 1 centimeter taller in the morning than in the evening. 8- Laughing lowers levels of stress hormones and strengthens the immune system. Six-year-olds have it best, they laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15-100 times a day. 9- The average american chows on McDonalds more than 1,800 times in their life. 10- There are more bacteria in your mouth than there are people in the world. 11- According to the U.S. FDA standards, 1 cup of orange juice is allowed to contain 10 fruit fly eggs...but only 2 maggots. 12- When you sneeze, your body is flushing out infected cells. An average sneeze can spread over 100,000 virus cells up to 30 feet. 13- People suffering from a cold are contagious from 2 days before they show symptoms to up to 4 dyas afterwords. 14- In 1972, a group of scientists reported that you could cure the common cold by freezing the big toe. 15- One single bacteria cell can multiply into over 8 million cells in less than 24 hours.

Probably True

You Belong in 1984

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

Express Frustration!

I just wanted to take a minute and express my frustration with Express!!!
Once upon a time i bought a pair of jeans there. I wore them the next day all thrilled to have new jeans, only to find out that one pant leg was longer than the other. Needless to say, i returned them the next day. Of course they didnt have the size i needed so i got a whole different jean because they would only do an EXCHANGE not a return. Well, i never wear the jeans i got in place of them because i didnt ever want them but they were better than the pair with 2 leg lengths. I havent bought jeans there since. I do, however, buy my work pants from there. I love the Editors, they fit like a glove and are super comfey and dont have to be ironed. I have 4 or 5 differnt kinds and love them all. Right now they are having a sale, buy one pair the one for 50% off, which i have never seen the Editors come on sale so i had to take advantage of this. I tried on my size and bought 2 kinds. I wore the grey ones and they were fantastic but when i wore the pinstriped ones they were too big... weird... the same size but way bigger. So, i took them back and they didnt have any more of my size so they said they would order them. 3 or 4 days later i got a package and they were the WRONG ones!!! I went BACK to the freaking store to start over. Well, the lady helping me was super pissy, as if i was being difficult. She was way pissed she had to do this for me and made it very clear. Then she asked me how they rung it up because it was rung up wrong... well... i have no idea what the heck you people do behind there, that is really not any of my concern to tell you the truth. Then she said that the pants were not on sale so if i ordered new ones she was going to have to charge me full price. Um... EXCUSE me?? No. I was super nice to her and trying to make it seem like i wasnt as irritated as i was but this pushed me over the edge. I said to her, um, none of this is MY fault, and its actually a joke. I want the pants i originally bought and i want them the right size, is that to much to ask? She got the point. So the other day i got the pants in the mail. Hooray... they are the right ones. I put them on today and got to work and discovered... ONE LEG IS LONGER THAN THE OTHER!!!! This is so ridiculous!!! I dont know whether to fix the hem myself or go and return them yet AGAIN!!! AHHHH... i just needed to let that out. I dont feel better but at least you all know how i feel about LAME stores that cant get it right!

AST Dew Tour

Good times were had at the AST dew tour this weekend. Josh & Tiffany, 2 of their friends and Marshall & I went to the Dew tour this weekend. Marshall & I went last year and were quite impressed so we decided to go again. We started off the afternoon with some Costco pizza. While we were waiting for the pie of deliciousness to be made we walked around and got a bunch of samples... it was so dorky but way fun. We then headed to the Energy Solutions Arena. Unfortunatly they spread the events out so you have to pick which ones you really want to see because there is no way to see them all. We decided that the most important one was the skate park finals so we headed there way early, only to find out that we were not the first ones to feel this way. It was packed. We ended up on the VERY top row. Well, the boys were just not satisfied with this so they decided to just by-pass security and head up to better seats. They did this twice and it we actually ended up with a pretty good location. It was a real good time.

Birthday Extravaganza!!

I just wanted to make a special post to tell my mom and Marshall thanks for the amazing (and 2 favorite) birthday gifts. My mom got me j'adore by Dior and it smells fantastic!! Every year she gets me perfume for my birthday and it is a GREAT gift! I have so many different ones that it is easy to match my perfume with my mood. Marshall got me a BCBG white watch!!! I absolutely LOVE it!!! I told him i wanted the Chanel white watch months before my birthday but i was totally being sarcastic because i would never pay $4,500 for a watch. He did some research and came up with this one that i love even more and i doubt it cost more than 4 grand!!! Marshall's mom also got me a great gift. She got me a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure at a FANTASTIC salon in Orem. Carrie and i went this last Tuesday and got all pampered and it was a blast. Not to get off on a tangent, but after we went to the salon we watched Baby Mama and it is HILARIOUS!! I loved it! But anywho... back to the subject... I just wanted to say thanks to my mom and Marshall for making my birthday super special!

The Greek Festival

Last weekend Marshall & I went to the Greek Festival in Salt Lake. It was pretty cool. They did performances, dances and had little booths of jewelry and food. We got lunch there (we both love greek food) and just hung out. All around it was pretty cool and something to do. We are sick of sitting around so when an opportunity presents itself we are going to be more open minded and just go with it.

Will It Match Up?

Last night was the season premier of the new 90210. I remember when i was younger i hated going to young womens because it was on the same night as Pary of 5 and 90210 so when i would get home (if i went) i would race to the TV and finish watching whatever parts i could. I used to love both of them. I had low expectations for the new show because when i was younger it took a lot less to entertain me but i was pleasantly surprised. It was actually quite good. Its on the CW at i think 7 on Tuesdays. I dont know if i will get as into it as i used to but it is refreshing to finally watch something other than reality TV. Now that Rob and Big is gonzo and the Hills sucks i think this will be my new show. Well my #2 show... 2 and a half men is most definatly #1!! Nothing compares.

Adios Amego

I'm dead sexy, i know, i know...
Les has 2 or 3 harleys and they are pretty darn sweet. He just got this one. It is Harley Davidson's sporty model. He loves it. Personally i like his others better. They are more street bikes, you know, manly and tough looking... ohhhh yeeeeaaaah!
Awe... Tender

Chuck left for NY Saturday (he is going to architecture school in Long Island)... sad day... so we went to his parents (Tauni & Les) house for dinner and just to hang out on Friday night. Les was getting home from work (at the Harley Davidson shop) as we were getting there so i conned him into taking me for a ride. Tauni got me all suited up in here gear and although i feel like i looked like an astronaut i must admit that i felt pretty safe.

Epilator Update

Well, i tried the epilator again! I had not done anything since Monday and my right leg, the one i shaved, was really nasty and my left leg was still doing pretty well. The hairs grow in alot finer and not nearly as much as the other leg, so i gave it another go. I did the left leg again, to get the ones i missed and it didnt hurt nearly as bad. It was like nothing. Then i moved onto the right one... It HURT so BAD!!! But, i did it!!! I successfully epilated both of my legs, including the knees! This week is upper thighs... It is really nice and i think it will end up being worth all the pain in the end. Especially if it keeps getting less and less painful! Horray for epilator success! Oh... and Marshall wanted to try it so we did a little patch on him... he was clentching his hands and growling, it was hilarious. He sounded so buff and manly as he was using my pink epilator to rip his hairs out. Then when i turned it off, he yealped "Ouch" in a really high voice... oh man, i cant wait to continue on him. We didnt have enough time to really get into it but i really want to!!! I think it will make for some great entertainment!
Final Score - Jennifer 1 point, Epilator... ZERO

Busy -- Busy -- Busy

This weekend was packed with fun filled events. Friday, Marshall's dad got into town from NY. He drove Marshall's Winabago out here and flew home, leaving us the amazing treasure from the 70's. So Friday we just all hung out, had dinner and chatted. Saturday, we ran errands then went to Marshall's grandma's house (his mom's mom) for her Pyzam Glitter Text Makerbirthday party. Marshall and I decided that adults were boring so we played with the kids on the trampoline, it was pretty great until they decided to tickle me, and i dont know if you know this or not but when little kids tickle it actually kind of hurts. So, i had about 8 kids pulling my arms and legs having a hay day. Marshall was laughing harder than any one though, i am sure. Then we hung out with his dad a little longer. Marshall had to work at Alta so i went to the Hieroglyphics concert with Carrie... That was a BLAST and a HALF! Sunday morning i got up and got somethings done around my house then drove up to Marshall's brothers house in Sandy. His dad left around noon so we just hung out there for a bit, had lunch and mingled and headed home. Marshall showered and got ready then we went to my cousin Kryshelle's Pyzam Glitter Text Maker birthday party. Just cake and ice cream and dinner, that sort of thing. We left that party and went to Chuckies going away dinner/party at his parents house. So relaxing. They live in Draper on the hill and have the most amazing view i have ever seen. So... we got home around 10 and once we hit the sack we were down for the count. BUSY BUSY BUSY.

The Clams 2008

Marshall was on a mens lacrosse league here in Utah called the Clams. They won the championship last night with an undefeated title. So, of course, they had to go out afterwords to celebrate. I was not much of a party because the Olympics were playing on a little 10" screen in the corner and Kamisha and I couldn't take our eyes off of it. Oh and just so that Elliot doesn't get any grief from Coach Lamb... he and I were the designated drivers. No, seriously, i know it looks fishy considering we have 3 pitchers to the 2 of us but everyone just wanted to be where we were apparently. Maybe i am more of a party than i think.

One Of My Worst Ideas Yet!

I hate shaving my legs! It is so tedious and it grows back so quickly that it drives me crazy. So i got the brilliant idea to buy an epilator. Well, if you don't know, an epilator is a little machine that actually pulls the hairs out, like waxing. Marshall calls it the "Ripalator". Let me just tell you... this is one of the worst pains that i have ever felt, right up there next to the tattooed eyeliner! It FETCHING KILLS!!!! Well, i spent a lot of money on this thing so i decided that i was not going to give up. I started with my left leg... i was taking so long because i kept breaking because it hurt so bad, that the batteries ran out and i had to recharge it. So i would let it sit there and charge for about an hour or a half hour and then i would use it again and try and get some more juice out of it. I did only the front and sides of my left leg, the back hurt to bad. I need to build up some more courage and try it again. I ended up shaving my right leg because i knew the epilator would not get it done so i see this as an experiement, we will see how much longer the left leg stays smooth. Well, actually, i am not done, its not even smooth yet. I charged it all night and i plan to finish it up today after work. Oh and i forgot to mention that when i say i did my "leg" i mean from the knee down. Yeah, its that bad. Well, the story gets worse. As i mentioned, the batteries were running low and i really wanted to get at least one thing smooth, so i decided to try my arm pit. BIG mistake. I touched it to the very bottom of the pit and it hurt so bad i yelped like an animal on fire and dropped the device from hell. Well, you would think i would learn from this mistake but noooo... so i did it again, but this time right in the middle. I have never felt anything like it. OUCH! Then i remembered that my sister in law had told me that she would recommend waxing before using this device so i thought i should try that. Typically you need 2 hands to wax but me being wonderwoman thought that rule didnt apply to me. So i tried waxing my left pit. DISASTER! I did one little strip and got quite a bit of hair out, it hurt like a FREAKING beeotch but i thought it was working so i did it again. Only i couldnt really see very well and my fingers started getting sticky, my skin was turning lobster shades of red and my eyes were watering. So i put my arm down and was going to be done with it, only to realize that my arm was stuck to my pit. I had gotten was all over and now i had a SERIOUS mess on my hands. I tried to get it off but if you have ever delt with wax before you know that was not working. It took me upwords of an hour to clean this dang pit and then i still had hair. So i decided to shave. Well, as any smart person should be able to figure out, shaving irritated skin is not pleasant. It burned like there was no tomorrow. At least i had a smooth pit... for a day. Well, i decided to call it a night. I woke up this morning and got ready for work and put on deodorant. All that did was remind me of how bad the pain was because it BURNED like it did when i shaved it. I couldnt put my arm down. I tried to wipe it out but that only hurt worse. I couldnt go without deodorant, no one at my work deserved that so i figured i would suck it up and deal. Well, i cannot put my arm down, i am sure i looked like a goon airing out my bo filled arm pit on the way to work because it was up like a chicken wing the whole way. Its not to bad now because i put it on my desk to rest it and i am good to go. I learned a very valuable lesson last night.. READ THE DIRECTIONS. Oh, and listen to them. It said CAUTION: Do not use epilator head on under arm hair. Pshaw... like i would listen to that, what do they know? Well, apparently they know more than i do. I am not done yet though, this device from hell will not defeat me. I am going to finish the bottom half of my left leg tonight. Hopefully it will go alittle smoother after i read the directions again, and actually follow them.

Whited Out!

I love this pic!
Marshall & I, Gabby & Courtney
My friend Gabby was in town last weekend and her friend Courtney had a "Golden 25th Birthday Party" Everyone had to wear all white or all black and have some accent of gold. It was awesome that everyone got so into it. Please take notice of my white watch (rare) and white purse in the background. Oh, and our shoes were white to! Beat that!

Super Rad Flash Back!

It was Marshall & I's 2 year anniversary this past Friday and it was way fun! We were running errands during the day and came across a photo booth from the 70's. Needless to say, we could not resist! After a day full of fun we went to an amazing Greek place on 13th in Salt Lake and it was freaking fantastic! I had the lamb (for the first time) and after I got over the fact that i was eating a little baby lamb, i decided that it was delicious! Marshall got the sword fish and even though i am not a sea food lover i tried it. It tasted like all other sea food... like a rubber band. Anywho... it was a blast to say the least.
