The Wood

As I mentioned in my previous post, we went to Lowes to buy wood for a project. This project was inspired by a conversation Marshall and I recently had. We were talking about, reminiscing and admiring some of the beautiful pictures that we took in other countries that are displayed in our home and then we were thinking...we have these pictures of other countries in our home but we don't have any pictures of OUR beautiful country and even further than that we don't have any of OUR amazingly beautiful state. So we went through our pictures and picked three of our favorites that we took when we visited 3 of Utah's most beautiful places. We then began the search for frames that could complete the feel of the pictures but after looking we discovered we were not going to find frames in a store, Marshall was going to have to make them. So we looked through the giant pile of wood and got the straightest, knottiest and most rugged pieces of wood we could find and it definitely paid off (although you can't really tell by the pictures)! The frames did EXACTLY what we wanted them to do.

The boring empty wall:After:Up close:First we have on of San Rafael Swell in Southern Utah. It has a lot more detail when you look at it up close and it is an amazing picture that will get you to just stare at it for a while.
Second is Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. It was not easy to get a picture without any people in it so I had to crop some out but you wouldn't know that unless I told you. Marsh and I had such a good time on this trip and when we look at the picture not only do we see an amazing, natural piece of art but we remember the day like it was yesterday. Good times.
Third is The Narrows in Zion National Park. We went with Chris, Ashley, Josh & Tiffany and had such a good time. I think this picture actually came off of Tiffany's camera because that is Marshall and I starting the hike. We liked this one particularly because it is us hiking it. Not posing for it, in fact, not even knowing it is getting taken and it just takes us back.

Let the projects begin!

Apparently Marshall and I are DONE "sitting around" (I put it in quotations because even though we haven't been busy with projects we do little to no sitting around anyways, such busy bees we are). Anywho, last Friday we went to Lowes to get some wood for a project and we ended up leaving with new hardware for our kitchen. Check it out.

Before:After:

This was just as much for function as it was for the look of it. Opening drawers from digging your finger into the side of them sucks, this is much better!
